MMD的工作具有一定的挑戰性. 首先MMD的客人並不像一般的客人那麼的講理. 他的要求也不比一般的客人底. 就以彩標為例子好了. MMD的客人要求將彩標貼在紙箱上面的時候不得有任何的皺紋. 而且彩標距離紙箱的邊緣也要整整齊齊的. 對於彩標的內容也是一個字都不能錯. 非但如此, 彩標的顏色也要和產品的色系相吻合, 否則也是一種缺點. 所以我們的同仁每一次在彩標完成以後好像是中了頭彩一樣的高興.

為什麼彩標對MMD的客人是那麼的重要呢? 如果有機會到美國的Costco 或者是Sam’s的賣場去看就很容易明白了. 和一般的傢俱零售店不同, 這一些賣場裏面沒有專業的銷售人員.彩標就是最好的銷售人員. 有從另外一個角度來看. 我們的產品在賣場上面要是沒有在一定的時間內賣出一定的數量, 客人就會要求降價折扣, 這就是Mark Down.. 有的時候產品做的好, 價錢好但是彩標做的不好, 影響了銷售的績效. 實在是划不來. 

MMD business is a challenged job. The customer of MMD is normally unreasonable in certain aspects comparing to the other residential customers on the high side. Take the color label for example, there are few requirements amazing to a lot our vendors.  When applying the color label to the carton, it must be free of wrinkling and perfectly align with the edge of carton.  On top of that, the context must be perfectly accurate in wording and color or it will be considered as a major defect.  As a result my staff feels like winning the lottery after the color label work is done.

So, what is the reason so important to have the color label perfectly on the outside carton?  If you have a chance to visit the Costco or Sam’s club, you will notice there is no sales person comparing to a lot of furniture store.  The color label stands as the sales of the wholesales club. On the other hand, our products have to be sold in a certain degree within the sales window, or there will be Mark-Down charge to the suppliers. It is really a shame to let the Mark-Down hurt us when the product and price are both in position, but the color label is in secondary quality level.
